Smoothies have to be the easiest way to sneak a lot of healthy ingredients into your child's diet.  The first thing you child will say after tasting this smoothie is "I can't taste the spinach"!  Don't make the same mistake I did.  You will want to double or triple this recipe.  Because your child or children will certainly come back for more. --Chef Maria

Spinach Kiwi Pineapple Smoothie

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Spinach Organic is best. (up to 2 cups)
  • 1/2 cup Pineapple (diced)
  • 1/2 cup Yogurt Low fat or Greek
  • 1 Kiwi
  • 1 Banana (sliced)
  • 4 oz Coconut water (up to 6oz to taste)
  • 1 tbsp Flaxseeds (can be replaced with Flaxseed oil)

Instructions

  • In a sandwich size bag, cut up banana, kiwi, pineapple, and yogurt to the sandwich bag and freeze overnight. 
  • In the morning, place your frozen smoothie in the microwave for 30 seconds, break up the frozen fruit and add to blender. 
  • Add 1-2 tablespoons of Flax Seeds or 1 tablespoon of Flax Seed Oil. 
  • Add 1-2 cups of loosely packed Spinach and blend! :)

Notes

For the coconut water, I like ZICO Original or ZICO Pineapple coconut water for this one, SOBE makes a good one too!
