Flourless Brownies made with Black Beans

Easy to make, this gluten free recipe will have your guest guessing the secret ingredient-black beans! Rich in protein, the beans substitute the flour creating a gluten free delicacy for everyone.

  • Food Processor (or blender)
  • Bowl for mixing
  • Rubber Spatula
  • Cupcake baking tray


  • 1 can (15 ounces) Black Beans, no salt drained, rinsed & drained again
  • 3 large eggs
  • cup butter melted
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • tspn salt
  • 2 tspn vainilla extract
  • ½ cup cane sugar
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup walnuts (optional)


  • Preheat oven to 350 F.
  • Spray or butter an 8 inch pan or cupcake tin
  • Place the black beans, eggs, melted butter, cocoa powder, salt, vanilla extract, and sugar in the bowl of a food processor and blend until smooth.
  • Remove the blade and gently stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan.
  • Bake the brownies for 25 minutes, or until just set in the center.  
  • Cool before cutting and serving.
